Maori for "place of well-being", Whare Ora Lodge is located five minutes from Ohakune and the Tongariro World Heritage Site and 20 minutes from Turoa Ski-field.
Originally built in 1910, Whare Ora was imaginatively redesigned in 1997, blending the existing home with contemporary, upmarket accommodation facilities.
Whare Ora Lodge is set on an acre of recently landscaped gardens with stunning, picture views of Mt Ruapehu and Mt Taranaki.
We have available on site recreational activities such as Petanque and Croquet and indoor activities if weather permits outdoor activities.
For the relaxed quiet evening in, we can offer one, two or three-course dinners and will cater for special dietary requirements (a minimum of 24 hours notice is required). Alternatively, there are a number of good cafes and restaurants in town.
Children are welcome by arrangement and our cats are very friendly.
